In a nutshell,

Hello. Welcome to my website. My name is Dong-hak Kim.

I received B.S degree in Computer Information & Communication from Hongik University, Republic of Korea in 2018.
I am currently pursuing the M.S degree in Computer Engineering with the Broadband Convergence Networks Laboratory (BCNLab) with the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering in Graduate School, Hongik University, Republic of Korea.

My advisor is Byung-Seo Kim who a professor at Hongik University. This link is his website.

My major interests are in the field of Blockchain Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), IOS Application Programming, Information-Centric Networking(specifically Mobile/Wireless Content-Centric Networking / Named Data Networking), Internet of Things (IoT), Hardware Devices (Switch, Router. etc.).

Nowadays, I am currently working as a Teacher Assistant at Hongik University since December 2015.

I am currently pursuing the MS degree in Computer Engineering with the Broadband Convergence Networking (BCN) Laboratory and Department of Electronics and Computer Science in Graduate School, Hongik University, Korea. My major interests are in the field of Information-Centric Networking (specifically Mobile / Wireless Content-Centric / Named Data Networking), Internet of Things (IoT), Future Internet architectures, and configuration of Raspberry Pi and Arduino with CISCO routers.

I was worked as Machine Learning Researcher in KISTI. I has been implementing on AI server which is built by attaching FPGA based Xilinx Alveo Card on top of Dell poweredge R730. And I verifying AI performance through Image Classification, an example of Caffe Benchmark.

    Description : This project was first experience which encountered by lab. Although research on ICN field was actively carried out in Korea, the test-bed environment for verification of performance was not well established. Therefore, I implemented a private test-bed using Raspberry pi 3 based on CCN Protocol in my laboratory by applying Python-based PiCN and C++ based CCN-Lite which developed by Basel University team, Swiss. I configured CCN Network used 6 Raspberry pies and I analyzed packets which using sending and receiving.


  3. (Lab) Analysis of Technologies and Algorithms for Low-Power Optimal Operation of the Small IoT Devices (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI))
    Period : March, 2019 - October, 2019
    Description : As IoT technology has recently become an inevitable technology for our lives, we recognized the need for technology to reduce power consumed by IoT devices while considering security aspects such as CCTV. Raspberry pi 3 and Arduino-based temperature and humidity sensor module DHT-11, respectively used for real-time streaming. The software used InfluxDB to send / receive a temperature & humid data using TCP/IP Protocol, and Grafana Open Source was used to visualize temperature data changes in real time, along with a MySQL-based web server to support streaming services.


  4. (Private) Dating IOS Application for lovers

    Description : This app is designed for lovers, and is being developed to upload/download date photos and videos and record anniversary events. It is a project that is currently being implemented personally and is going to be applied to Version 2 for making films and functions that are needed for work. I sketched out the UI, completed the first implementation, and now I have free program code disclosure on my personal git server.

  1. Research on Multi-Protocol-Stack-based Context-Adaptive Networking Technology (National Research Foundation of Korea)
    Period : November, 2015 - October, 2018
    Development Environment : Raspbian 2016-04-10, Raspberry pi 3, DHT-11 Temperature & Humidity Sensor, Gas sensor, MongoDB
    In this project, I was implemented a platform for sensing data in real-time by using Cloud computing technology, which has recently been in the spotlight. I also used Raspberry pi which attached DHT-11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor and Gas sensor which were based on Arduino. Measured data is sent and received by the Publish / Subscribe method of the MQTT protocol, and that values were accumulated in Owncloud that had been implemented in Raspberry pi in advance. Database used MongoDB, predicting that the amount of data would be large in the future.


  2. Development of Collaboration System for Building Information Modeling (BIM) (Small and Medium Business Administration)

    Development Environment : Windows 7, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (FTP Server), Microsoft Visual Studio C#, Microsoft office Excel 2010,
    In this project, I was implemented a Version Control program which to control the version of architectural design file. I used C# development language and it is needed to work collaboratively when modeling architectural drawings within a file-sharing environment between multiple users. And I also made FTP Server (File-transfer Protocol) to download and upload Excel file.

  3. Research on context-awareness-based residential design technology for the elderly with energy reduction (National Research Foundation of Korea )
    Period : October, 2014 - September, 2017
    Development Environment : Windows 7, Arduino, Raspberry pi 3, Camera Sensor, Heart-rate sensor, Java etc. This was a project that built an environment to provide them with a convenient life based on the number of elderly people over 60. So, I worked on real testbed implementation by helping my lab member, when I was Bachelor 6th semester. We were used Arduino, Raspberry pi 3 and the other sensors. Also, we developed JAVA GUI program to control arduino sensors in that time.

    Description : C# and Raspberry pi 3 installed in the Mysql has to work and implementing programs to manage the status of the parking lot.   9. Implementation of a Sound source modulation program using STFT (Short-Time Fourier Transform)

    Description : The sound source modulation program is implemented in the matlab environment by utilizing the concept of Short-Time Fourier Transform(STFT) to compensate for the disadvantages of the Fast Fourier Transform(FFT), which are not segmental. Create a Contour/Mesh graph for the modulated sound source file and analyze the frequency of the sound sources by time.

    Description : This program is used by Microsoft Visual C# and connected MySQL Server. First, I created a Relation-Attribute diagram based on what I requirements and created an ERWin Model, and implemented the program using C#. This program is also implemented using serveral of the C# internal properties(GridView, Listbox etc.).

  13. Configure the network using the Cisco Router and discover routing paths by Implementing Dijkstra Algorithm as C code

    Description : I was configured real-network using Cisco Router Equipment, Arduino, Raspberry pi 3, and Android Phones respectively and I used the Open Shortest Path First(OSPF) protocol to navigate routing routes and I implemented Dijkstra Algorithm program using C language to explore routing routes.
